Some peace and quiet

The little one has long gone to bed, finally…………………. 🙂 But I thought I could still hear his voice ringing through my ears. LOL! Who could blame me or us? A week or 2 ago when I came home one fine day from my business trip, Ethan suddenly caught the singing bug! Talk about the bug, it just didn’t go away. Ever since, he was in this singing frenzy, all day and night long! Hey, I swear and cross my heart, he just couldn’t stop singing the moment he wakes up in the morning until he’s asleep in the night! Talking about him now just make me laugh out loud! LOL! Wherever he goes, whatever he does, in the bath, when he’s eating, when he’s writing, when he’s playing, when he’s out of the house, he just sings, non-stop! My mum was so funny, she was telling him the other day, “Ethan, aren’t you tired? Aren’t you thirsty? Why don’t you stop singing and rest for a while? At least let my ears rest a little, won’t you?” Hahahahahahaha!! Everyone has been telling him that but he just doesn’t stop. I seriously think he’s gonna grow up to be a singer! Don’t you think so? Hay, I could see myself become the mummy of the most famous singer in the world!! HAH! Dream on girl! 😉

Whatever it is, he could sing as much as he wants to, as long it makes him happy. When he sings, he just filled our faces with smiles and sometimes brought tears to our eyes. Not tears of joy, it’s tears of laughter because sometimes when he sings, his tune just went haywire! LOL!

Anyway, it’s been a great day for me today. I got a little productive and managed to finished a simple project. Remember when I mentioned earlier in my previous post that I’m going to show you my little butterflies?

Well, it’s done! I got inspired by Ali Edwards in creating a collage of butterflies and I’m just so happy how it turned out. Using my EK Success Paper Shapers Butterfly Punch which I bought online months ago, I started off by putting together the base with white cardstock over the black like this:

Thereafter, I punch all the butterflies using whatever scraps I could find in my stash and arranged them like this.

To adhere all these punched butterflies, I used the smallest 3D adhesive foam dots and adhered them onto the base cardstock which I’ve prepared earlier.

And they’re ready to go into the Ikea frame that I bought ages ago! Voila!

Hey, this is one of the simplest projects you could try and it’ll just take you maybe over an hour to complete them. And most importantly, looking at these butterflies will definitely make you smile, trust me. 😀

I think I’m going to get other smaller shapes of punches and try them out again. This is simply addictive!

What a great day it is to make something which I’ve been procrastinating for such a long time.

Just before I call it a night, I want to show you something I bought while I was out in the city today. We dropped by Kinokuniya bookstore for an hour and I walked out of the store with this buy.

Walking through the shelves, this bright pink book just caught my eyes. I couldn’t resist and bought it, knowing that I may or may not use it. But what the heck! LOL!

It’s the content that got me drooling all over the floor in the store and I think you would agree with me when I show you some of the pages.

There, didn’t I tell you so? Hey, I could see you drooling in your seats right now! LOL!

Well, I haven’t been baking for months and I think it’s time I warm up my oven and make something out of from book. I’ve always love cooking and baking. Mind you, I’m a good cook and a baker. 😉 I just don’t do it as often as before expecially since I started my current job. My folks don’t send me to the Hotel Catering & Management school for nothing. 🙂 My family has been in the food business for more than 50 years and my passion for food has been cultivated from the moment I was born. I’m just happy that I inherited the culinary skill from my grandma and my mum.

Well, I just need to take some time off to start baking again, who knows when, maybe tomorrow or in months to come but I’ll bake, that’s for sure. 🙂

Well, it’s been a fruitful day for me, posting twice today, which I haven’t done so for as long as I could remember. Like I said, i’ve enjoyed my rest days since Saturday and I just wish it’ll go on for a little longer.

Hope all of you have had a great day too and see you soon!

Night! 🙂

I love that butterfly-filled frame, Leena! So pretty. ANd, I have that 500 Cupcakes book too. I got it last year for Christmas, and am embarrassed to say that I have yet to try any recipes from it. So, thanks for the reminder about that book. ;0) I might just have to pull it out, and try baking something soon!
