Playing with Textures

I’ve said this before and I’m going to say it again now, I’m seriously an idiot when it comes to “Photoshop” ing  the pictures that I’ve taken. The only thing that I can get around is the Brightness/Contrast, Levels, a little bit of Curves and Hue/Saturation functions. Period. That’s all I know. Ohhh…………..maybe cropping and resizing. lol! lol!

Have you seen people ‘playing’ with Photoshop at the tip of their fingers? I do! And I always wonder, how did they amazingly created effects like that? And I’ve been wondering about it for like…….2 years? But I didn’t do anything about it. I just keep on oooohing and aaaahing in amazement. I always said, “I’ll get there someday”. But the day never come because I was just too lazy to learn. And I’ve asked tons of my friends if they’re good at PS, most would say no.

So, thanks to Celine, she shared with us how to use Textures on our pictures. You could download the Textures files for free.

After I happily downloaded the files and then I went like “So, what’s next?”. How can I get the textures effect on my pictures??!!

Google it girl! Sheeshhhh!! Why didn’t I think about it!! I was ‘sulking’ for 2 days because I really wanted to try using Textures but I just don’t know how to. And I googled this “use of textures in Photoshop” and I found a great tutorial, with step-by-step instructions and pictures!!:D

It took me a good an hour and a half to finally get it right! Hah! (i nearly threw my lappie on the floor! lol! lol!)

I love the effect! Here’s what I’ve tried out.

You know that feeling of satisfaction and relief when you fail again and again and finally…………you got it right?:D

Lesson 1 accomplished.

Off to bed now.

Nitey!

Love the look you did with Photoshop, a rustic feel to E’s photo.

You’ve got me now tempted of getting myself the 7 Gypsies ATC holder and start keeping those family memories & pictures. Love the overall look of your ATC holder.

Have a great weekend ahead Leena, looking forward to your Japan trip updates when you are there. Take Care gal!

I know what you mean! I use GIMP and have always wanted to learn more of the functionality but don’t have the time. Maybe this weekend!! Love the textures on your photos.
