I can’t believe the weekend passed so soon and tomorrow it’s back to work again. Just 2 short days, I have to admit I found myself relaxed and freed my mind of all the stress that build up the whole week. I think family ‘therapy’ is the greatest thing to help ease stress and worries. I poured all my time on my family on the weekend, doing things that we usually do, hang out at home, eating out and roaming the parks. Yesterday, we made a trip to the zoo, which we haven’t done in ages and it was pure fun. Seeing Ethan splashing with the hub around in the Kidz playground and getting soaked from head to toe and I was reading papers eating fries and looking at people under the hot sunny morning, was a perfect day. I thought to myself, how blessed I am to be able to enjoy my weekend with my 2 boys.
And today, we woke up late, went out for our weekly marketing, had lunch and then went to the nursery again to get more fresh flowers just to brighten up the gloomy afternoon (it was pouring for an hour). And look what we got………….
I couldn’t resist getting more Gerberas after last week’s trip to the nursery. And I grabbed a bunch of roses as well because they’re so fresh and pretty! I was all excited when I got home with these and started arranging the flowers into my vases. You see, the last time I arranged flowers properly was way back in 1993 I think. That was like 17 years ago!! I usually just dumped the whole bunch of flowers in the vase and that’s about it. So, I took my time to trim the stalks, get rid of the thorns, and arranged them nicely. I’m as happy as can be.
I just love the colors of the Gerberas, so vivid and intense.
Amazingly, this picture was not edited at all, freshly downloaded and resized to fit my blog post. I just love how my Canon 7D outperformed itself in every possible way. It was one of the best choices I made when I upgraded my SLR from 400D.
I then played a little with PS editing on the hue & saturation & vignette.
And for the roses, I just love the pale color of peach (I think ;)).
This is straight out from the ‘oven’ with a little vignette added to the edges.
And here are some editing effects I played with.
And I also got up close and personal with one of the stalks of roses. Even though this would have looked even better if it’s taken with a macro lens but I’m just happy the way it turned out. Hhhmmm…………I’m beginning to think that I should save up for a macro lens? *laugh*
I think you would have noticed that I’m on a flower crazed lately and I certainly would be back every week in the next month or so with my weekly flower purchase. A girl just couldn’t resist beautiful flowers, could she?
Thank you for dropping by and have a good evening!
