Change Is Good

for the heart and soul. *laugh*

Yeah right! Lol!

That’s my way of re-assuring myself that my money is well spent to make me a happy girl.;)

As you can see from my blog the past 2 days or so, a make-over took place on the overall design/concept. I’ve had changes in the last few months but I wasn’t very happy about those changes I made and the way it looks. I felt like something’s missing or it just doesn’t fit into my style. YKWIM?

And so when I first set my eyes upon Jane Johnson Photography & Design Prophoto blog template “Little Miss Sunshine” many months ago, I fell instantly in love with it. I simply love all the elements, design concept and color palette on the template. But at that point of time, I considered very careful whether to spend the money on a template when I could just experiment on my own using the standard ProPhoto blog template. So, I put off the purchase and every now and then, I regretted not buying it. And because it was so popular it was snapped up before I can blink my eyes. Seriously, I do regretted not taking the action when my heart has already set upon it!

Here’s my advice to you all, if you like something very much and you think the value of the product is worth spending on and it justifies your spending ability, JUST DO IT!! Don’t be like me! *laugh* Once you missed the opportunity, you might never see it again in your lifetime. Well, maybe not in a lifetime, maybe just for a long time.:D

Well, my luck fell upon me when I discovered Jane Johnson created the “Little Miss Sunshine 2″ due to the high demand and popularity of her first template sale!! Whooooopeeeeeeeee!!!

And you know exactly what I did next, right??!! *laugh*

So, what you’re seeing here in my blog is the result of my immediate commitment (means spending $$$) to the re-work of the blog template with a few new additions to the design. I’m a HAPPY girl!!:D

Some people might think I must be nuts spending that kind of money on a blog! It goes the same to people who are are nuts over bags, shoes, clothes, fine dining etc. For me, I spend my hard earned money on cameras, lenses, blog templates, digital elements, scrapbook materials blah, blah, blah…………because I’m passionate about all these things. I’m sure everyone out there can justify their spendings on something they really like, so as long as it is within their means, right?:)

Ok, here are some of the elements that I love about my new blog template.

The header of the new template comes in 15 different templates for me to play with and you can see that my header goes into the slide mode where I can showcase images of digital design elements and photographs of my favorite things. That’s the cool thing about the ProPhoto customized blog template, which of course needs to be installed with WordPress with domain hosted in a server. My domain is hosted at GoDaddy, which provides an excellent hosting platform. I’ve been hosting my domain with them for the past 2 years and I’m loving it because it allows me to have control over my blog design. I self-learned about all this hosting with a lot of help and support from GoDaddy.:)

Another element I like about this template is the profile section which is easy to navigate on the left side by just clicking the tab which will then brings you to another page and I could also introduce a little about myself with my photo attached.

You could also see that I no longer have a side bar and this allows me a clean, non-cluttered look on my  main content body. But I also did not completely remove all my links which was previously located in the menu bar in my previous template and side bar of my blog as well. If you scroll all the way down to the footer of my blog, you will now see all my links located there.

I’m still tweaking a little here and there on some of the links, so please bear with me little longer while I fix some of the elements in the next week or so.

Oh, have you heard another change that came in just a few days ago at Instagram? Well, I think I must the only person on earth that heard of the changes and I still call myself a fan of Instagram!! Bleh………….

I’ll be posting more photos using the newly upgraded features in time to come, after they get some fixes on some bugs issues and release the Instagram v2.1.

Ok, before I go, just want to share some photos I took the past couple of days. I’m being disciplined and stay good on my words. Keep up the good work Leena! *laugh*

One of my very true and loyal friend, Winky who has been my constant lunch partner at work. She’s working in the IMM building and I regularly make my way there to have lunch with her at least 2-3x a week. She’s a wonderful listener with a great sense of humor. I’ve never been more comfortable with anyone as much as I’m with her. A great pal and someone you can count on. Thanks so much for being my lunch buddy girl!:D

My lunch yesterday, pepper chicken with rice on a sizzling hotplate. Life is definitely good to me………..;)

My shadow in the evening. Taken while I was waiting to cross the road after work yesterday. The great joke about this shot was when I posted this on my FB wall saying how I wish I am tall as it seems in this photo but was mistaken for being “pregnant” when you look carefully at the bulge on the shadow in this image. Bwahahahahaha…………I had a good laugh! No I’m not pregnant, that’s my bag I was holding under my arm and it just happened to be in the position next to my body. ;D

Caught Piggie staring out the window again, like she always do everyday. I think she saw a bird resting on the metal grill outside the window ledge and when it started to fly away, she bumped her head on the glass window! *laugh* She’s just too funny! She do things that always make me laugh and I truly enjoy her natural great sense of dog humor.:D

You see, I’m beginning to love my new journey in photographing my every day life and when these images appeared on my screen, they tell wonderful stories that make me smile. I’m starting to understand what REALLY makes good photographs, when I can narrate a story of each and every photo that I captured. In my 15 years of passionately involved in photography, I’m finally able to break the barrier of being able to share the stories behind every photos I took for the past months. I know it’s unbelievable how I can be so passionate about photography and yet I can’t really produce the stories on them. I didn’t even realized this shortcomings about myself until now. And I’m really happy and proud of myself that I start to open my heart and mind to photograph images with stories I can relate to. They’re not perfectly taken but well, they tell me something. That’s the value I discovered just only recently. It’s never too late that I begin to understand what really makes good photos.:)

I gotta go now. Need to break my dry spell of not creating any scrapbook projects since I started my new job 3 weeks ago! Geez, that’s a really long spell.

Have a great weekend and hope you enjoy the new look on my blog!:D

Hi

Hi Valerie,

The instagram photos can be extracted when you connect your iPhone to your laptop using the sync cable. Then, locate the iPhone folder (if you’re using PC, it’ll be at removable storage driver), open it and you’ll find your photos there.

If you’re using Mac, once you connect the cable it’ll automatically open up iPhoto, click import, photos are uploaded, copy and paste your photos to your photo album.

Hope this helps. :)

Cheers
Leena
