I’m back earlier than expected. I couldn’t wait another day to share what I did today to start off my Project Life. It’s been a fruitful day so I thought I’ll show you what I did to my title page.
Well, it took me a couple of hours, longer than I expected, to put up just the main title page and sub-title page! Can you believe that? *laugh* I was in a mess taking out everything from the binder to the photo pocket pages, the core kit, embellishments and many more stuff. They were strewn all over the floor and by the time I finished the 2 pages and stood up (I was working on the floor), my legs and back were aching badly!
So, let’s go through what I did today and I hope you can share what you did on your prep work too. Please feel free link me to your blog so I can get some inspiration from you too.
The first thing I did was of course taking out the binder and all of the photo pockets pages that I ordered from A-G. Yes, I have so many of the pocket pages designs I didn’t know which one to use. I decided to start with the Design A pocket page. Then I took out the core kit and I spent ages deciding which one to use. Now you know why I took a couple of hours just to complete 2 simple pages!
Well, Becky Higgins core kit came with the guide on the back of some of the title and filler cards but I was anal about my preferred color choice so I spent a good hour (!!!!!!) shuffling the cards around and I finally took out some of my own pattern papers to mix with what came along in the kit.
When I visited Becky Higgins blog to get some ideas how to put up the title page on her post HERE I saw that most of the creative team girls included their family photos on their title pages. But I don’t have any new family photos taken recently so I decided to go for the minimalist look.
I actually came out with a main title page and another sub-title page. For the main title page, I used a 8 1/4″ x 11″ page protector from Pink Paislee. I cut out a grey with white polka dot pattern paper from Jillibean Soup to fit the page protector. I was also deciding whether to use the Maya Road doily or my own paper doily as a mat to the year number “2012″, which I adhered the numbers from AC Thickers onto the circle corks I purchased from the Daiso store (I love them!). In the end I decided to use my paper doily to mat the numbers as they look better and whiter against the grey pattern paper.
Here’s my completed main title page. I added a ticket stub with the word “Celebrate” just above the year and the word “everyday” on a label sticker below the year. So, my official title for my Project Life is “Celebrate 2012 Everyday”.
I came out with a sub-title page on one side of design A photo pocket page (the back page will be used as my Week 1 recording). Most people would use this as their title page but since I already did one on the Pink Paislee page protector, it makes more sense that I fill up those pockets instead of leaving them empty.
So, I came up with this sub-title page.
I mixed and matched few title, filler and journaling cards to fill up the pockets, with orange, black and white color palette. Told you I was anal about this. *laugh*
The only thing I added onto these cards are AC Thickers alphas and the “Mon-Sun” stickers from the core kit. I also used a My Mind’s Eye kraft journaling card “Memories Like This” on one of the pockets.
I’m so glad I completed these 2 pages before the start of 2012 tomorrow. And for the rest of the weeks and months to come, I’ll be busy picking up my cameras again to capture the everyday (or every other day) life of me, my family and friends.
I hope you’re looking forward to start this Project Life as much as I do and let’s encourage each other on this journey so we’ll enjoy and have lots of fun!
Thank you again for your comments. I do appreciate you taking time to drop by my blog.
Wishing all of you a wonderful start to 2012. Happy New Year everyone!
