Project Life Update | Free Printables

Good morning everyone! It’s a Monday here in Singapore and we’re now into Week 10 of 2012. Time really flies!

I hope you had a great weekend or are still enjoying it. There are nothing much going on around here except for the regular routine. Nothing exciting is happening on this tiny island which has less than 5 million people in population. Kind of boring isn’t it? *laugh*

We’ll, I have a couple of updates on my Project Life week 8. I’m still keeping up with a good momentum on updating my spreads. And I’m still trying out new protectors every week. So, in week 8 you’ll see me using Design D pocket page, which I purchased from Scraplicious, the main distributor for Becky Higgins Project Life products in South East Asia and Japan. It comes in the Big Variety Pack 1 with Design A, B, C, D, E & F. I think I have tried out just about all the designs except Design C protector since I started my project life in January. I find it fun using different pocket pages on different weeks. It challenged me to re-plan my layout for each week for many good reasons.

Do you use different protectors’ designs on your project life? How often do you change them? Or do you only use one particular favorite protector design throughout the months?

Since week 8 is considered the last week of February (last few days spilled over to week 9), I decided to include an insert of photo collages using my Instagram images as a review for the month fo February. I did this back in January on my Week 4 spread so I thought I would continue doing this for every month through out the year. I love looking at all the photos I took for the month in the small thumbnail. It gives me an overview of all the events in the month itself.

I added a few cute badges I got from PiecedPapers Shop at Etsy. I think I’m going to get more once I deplete my current supplies.:D

Oh oh………look what I bought last week? It’s the Tiny Attacher from Tim Holtz!! I’ve eyeing this for a while and I finally caved in and bought it at our local scrapbook store Scraplicious. They have just replenished their stocks, so visit or call them now if you’re in Singapore to get one for yourself!

I was using my old Making Memories stapler before I bought the Tiny Attacher. The staples are bigger and it can only reach up to 1 1/8″ from the edge to the inside of your paper etc. But with Tiny Attacher, it can reach up to 2 inches from the edge, which is great when I use it for my journaling cards on my project life. As you can see from my picture above, I’ve attached a sticker butterfly with my new Tiny Attacher.

I was also experimenting some chevron designs & printed them out in journaling card size which can be slotted into the project life pocket pages.  I love chevron prints and I do not find many on those ready made pattern papers available in the store (very limited), so I might as well make them for my own use.

I kind of like the colors in pastels so I played with some of my favorite colors and I think they turned out quite nice. I’ve started using a few on my week 8 spreads and I hope to be able to use them more in the coming weeks.

If you like to print some of these cards for your own use in your project life pages, please feel free to download them HERE & HERE and print them as many times as you want. One set is in plain solid colors and the other set is in very fine honeycomb prints (I’m not sure if you can see the prints on the 3rd & 4th row of the cards).

Note: These printables are for own personal use only. Please do not circulate or re-sell them as your own designs.

I’m also trying out these designs in 3 x 4 horizontal and in 4 x 6 size. So, keep a lookout for more free printables soon.:)

Once I’m done with my week 8 spread, I will want to start on my week 9 as soon as I can. I need to get them done quickly before I start traveling for work again next week, which I will be away for maybe 2 weeks to 2 different countries. But I will definitely be home over the weekend to spend time with my family. I hope I will still be able to catch up with my next couple of weeks project life even though I’ll be away.

I’ll be back soon once I’ve taken pictures of my completed week 8 spread.

Have a great week ahead!

Ahhh… You designed this with me in mind! lol… Always been in love with Chevron prints, and I don’t believe there’s such a thing as Chevron overdose. Thanks, Leena! *hugs*

Thanks for the printables Leena. I’ve also eyed Tim Holtz’s tiny attacher but it’s kind of pricey here so I’ll wait till the Salon Version Scrap in Paris at the end of the month. I have a few page protectors but no favourites; I pick them according to my pics and journaling of that week.
Have a good week Leena and am looking forward to seeing your PL pages.
xx

Hi Tracey,
Did you select “no border” when you print the files on an A4 size photo paper? The measurement shouldn’t be too far off. I’m uploading a revised files in a while because I realized the length is slightly shorter by 2mm. Look out for my next post. :)

Hi Leena, what sort of paper do you normally use to print? I realise some printers do not print really crisp and clear images or patterns or some paper like cardstock is too thick to go through our home printers. Have been quite confused for awhile haha

Thanks a lot!! I love them! they are beautiful!!

FindingnanaMarch 7, 2012 - 9:37 am

Hi Juanna,
I usually use a textured white cardstock or some other art paper with smooth surface I purchased from ArtFriend. Try to stay below 125gsm on the paper weight or it will be too thick to go through your printer at home. At this moment, I have no problem printing my cardstock. As for the quality and crispness of the print, it really depends on the printer model you own. The better printers with higher DPI (dots per inch) will definitely print better images. And you also need to have a high resolution, clear and sharp image to have a clear print. Hope this help. :)
Love,
Leena
