Look What Just Came In

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you’re having a great day today celebrating Easter with your loved ones.

We had a long weekend break when we celebrated Good Friday 2 days ago in Singapore and I had a wonderful break, spending time with my friends, meeting up with my best friend who came back for a visit, attended another bestie’s baptism last night and catching up with my project life. I wish time don’t pass so quickly! In about 8 hours I’ll be back at work again. 🙁

Anyway, I’m here today to share a happy news with you. 😀

Here’s what making me deliriously happy!

I’ve finally got hold of my Silhouette Cameo!

After a couple of months waiting patiently for it, that day finally came when I collected my Cameo from Scraplicious. Yes, Scraplicious decided to bring them in and I’m so very happy they did! Thank you so much Scraplicious!  😀

I can’t tell you how thrilled I was when I picked it up from the store on Thursday and I started playing with it first thing on Friday morning. *laugh* I’m feeling like a little kid excited over her new toy!

I’ve seen Silhouette Cameo design cuts being used widely by many Project Lifers and other crafters on their projects and I’m amazed with the designs available in Silhouette online store. I’ve been browsing them the past couple of months and I couldn’t wait to actually cut them out with the Cameo I’ve ordered.

I’ve purchased quite a number of designs from the store and tried cutting them after downloading the Silhouette Studio software, a platform where you manage the designs and cuttings.

My maiden cut was not a pleasant one because of the stickiness of the cutting mat. My cut was ruined when I tried to remove the cardstock from the mat. I was a little worried if I’m doing the right way. But after re-adjusting the blade size, I tried the 2nd time, praying hard it will work perfectly and it did! The mat is less sticky (than the first) and I was able to remove them effortlessly. Phew!

The machine is surprisingly quiet (not completely without noise) as reviewed by users and I could use it even during the night without waking up anyone.

The cut was very precise especially on intricate designs. As long as you get the settings right e.g. choosing the right paper type selection and blade size, it cuts wonderfully.

This is how it looks like after I peeled off the cardstock, leaving the cuts on the mat.

And all I have to do is to lift off the cuts by peeling them from the mat. It doesn’t take any effort at all.

There are special tools sold in the store that removes the cuts off the mat, which helps the removal much easier without using your fingers.

They look amazing. don’t they? 😀

I’m so in love with this cutting machine, it’s worth every penny and I’ll definitely be using it very often for my project life and other craft projects.

I’ve also cut them out in kraft paper and they look equally amazing!

I’ve yet to fully explore the Studio software and what other things they can do besides cutting designs. I just need to find time to read up a bit and get tips & techniques online.

All in all, Silhouette Cameo is a fabulous cutting machine as reviewed by many users and it’s worth the investment in my personal opinion.

If you’re in Singapore and highly interested in getting a Cameo for yourself (which I highly recommend), you can call Scraplicious store now to pre-order one. I heard that the shipment which came in only a few days ago are completely sold out! Wow! It definitely is a popular tool amongst the crafters here in Singapore. 😀

You can still contact the store at 6345 8600 or email them at to pre-order yours now. 😉

To celebrate my 5th year blog anniversary this month, do come back next week to check on my giveaway post, which will include these silhouette cuts!  😀

I’ll be back soon to update my Project Life Week 11 spread.

Have a great week ahead!

Hope you had a good Easter weekend too Leena! Ah the super Cameo! It’s really THE tool for scrappers right now! I saw the demonstration at the Salon Version Scrap here and I know that alot of well known scrappers like Ali Edwards, Lisa Truesdell, Céline Navarro use it. For the moment, I’ll wait awhile before deciding whether to acquire it. Seems that you have really adopted it, seeing all the cuts that you have made so far! Enjoy yourself and have a good week. xx

WOW!!! CONGRATULATIONS, Leena. Looks like a fabulous buy. I love the die cuts that you’ve made. The cuts look very clean…no frayed edges etc. Unfortunately that machine is not in my future so I shall just ogle at what you make. Enjoy your new machine.
