Project Life | Week 41
I’ve been in a rut the past two weeks. When the weekends came, I was all geared up in the morning, so ready to sit down and catch up with my Project Life. But somehow, I got distracted and found myself roaming around the house like a lost soul. And then I wasted hours and end up not doing anything productive. There are days like that once in every few months I would feel all inspired when I woke up in the morning but when the time passes, my energy level just dropped and I just don’t feel like doing anything.
I think this happens to a lot of you and I believe it is ok to take a break. Sometimes we need to take a step back, not do anything crafty and just rest. When time comes, we will be re-energized and ready to move forward. Life can be hectic most days, more so when some of us have a full time job (or a full time mom!), with a family to attend to, doing homework with our kids, attend their school activities etc. By the end of the day, we’re left with little or no energy to even lift up a finger. So, I would tell myself it is alright to give my body and mind a rest. And I’ll be up and running again in no time doing what I love to do and enjoying it. 🙂
So, last weekend I had some time to complete another week of my Project Life spread. And I made another attempt to video my process again! This time, I had help from the hub to set my tripod and I used my DSLR to video my PL instead of my phone camera. I love that it produced a better resolution video, not the best but it looks great to me. I’m definitely happy how it turned out. But I’ve had such a hard time getting it to upload to Youtube. It took me almost one full day after a few failed attempts. I’m not sure what happened but I think it’s got to do with the video layout or size. Or maybe my wifi is working really slow. I think it might be time to upgrade the speed of my wifi soon. It seemed to take ages for me to upload my video to Youtube and it frustrates me! It made me feel like I suck big time on posting videos! *laugh*
Anyway, I hope you’ll enjoy my video again and to those of you who have subscribed to my Youtube and leaving me lovely messages, thank you so much for taking time to watch my first video! Your words really do encourage me to try to make another one. I hope as time goes, I’ll make better videos to share how I put my Project Life pages together. I may not do it regularly, maybe once a month if time permits.
This week I used the Midnight core kit as the base of my spread. You would know by now how much I love this kit and I use it at least on two weeks pages in a month. The other weeks I use Studio Calico PL kit. This kit’s cards have lots of white based with a nice touch of colors and graphics, not too busy. That’s the main reason why I love it so much. It’s just plain clean and simple. 🙂
When working on my cards, there are a few basic products that I love to use on my Midnight kit. They are considered my top few must-have favorite products which you can see that I’ve used over and over again the past 41 weeks. They are
* Printable labels ~ they are mainly from Studio Calico shop in their digital section.
* Alpha stickers ~ I use a lot of Thickers and the mini stickers from my Studio Calico monthly PL kit.
* Stamps ~ I have a huge collection of stamps which I’ve collected from my Studio Calico monthly kits.
* Enamel dots ~ this is one of my all time favorites and I use them every week on my spreads. I have a decent collection mostly from from My Mind’s Eye and Basic Grey.
Basically these are the products I would use more often that the others.
How about you? Do you have any favorite products that you always like to work with and use on your Project Life spread all the time?
I didn’t get a chance to photograph my complete page before it turned dark the other day, so I’ll share them when I get the chance this weekend.
Thanks again for dropping by and have a great week ahead!
