It’s Been A While

When I started Project Life more than two years ago, I stopped scrapping traditional layouts. Occasionally I would just whipped out a page or two the past two years, or maybe none at all. I have truly enjoyed making pages and pages of layouts for five solid years until end of 2011 I suddenly felt like I would never want to touch my scrapbook supplies anymore. You know that kind of feeling that you’re so sick of everything and you just want to step away and take a long break?

I didn’t really pick it up again as I’m happy doing my Project Life, week after week, documenting my day to day memories. My last layout I made was last July for my {entreARTistes} Magazine assignment. So, last weekend I had a photo shoot session with my girlfriend’s little girl Alyssa, and looking at her photos the past two days gave me a very strong urge to want to make a layout! *laugh* This feels like having a crave during pregnancy and I felt exactly the same last night. Ideas were running through my mind in the middle of the night! I stopped short of getting out of my bed to scrap immediately. Yes, the urge was THAT strong! 🙂

AlyssaHow can one not want to make something out of these photos of such a feisty and adorable little girl right?!

The first thing I did this morning when I woke up was head straight to my scrap room, of course after I brushed my teeth and had a good cup of coffee.

I had two solid hours of putting my page together. I felt a little apprehensive when I started printing these photos, wondering to myself if I still have it, if I could still pull through a decent layout.

Here’s what I came out with this morning. I’m pretty happy it came out alright.

The Flourishes Cuts I purchased recently from TwoPeas by Wilna Furstenberg were put to good use with my Cameo. I love that the cuts added a soft touch to the photos.

I painted some colors just between the leaves with Studio Calico Mister Huey’s Watercolor Set to make it pops. I’ve also sprinkled the cardstock with a little of Mister Huey’s Dark Calico and Mary Mary mists.

I’m loving the Essentials Wood Veneer Stars from Studio Calico! When the collection was released a couple of moths ago, I immediately grabbed a pack and added them to my wood veneer collection.

The What I Love About You cut is also by Wilna Furstenberg from TwoPeas. I love her cuts and I’ve already bought some to cut for my Project Life pages.

I have some leftover of the Cosmo Cricket Tiny Text stickers from my Lancelot PL add-on from Camelot, adhered it together with some words I cut out from Pink Paisee Color Wash “Shine” patterned paper.

This layout will go to Alyssa’s momma. It’s considered as a token of appreciation for letting me use her lovely little to photograph her in the tutus sold by my best friend Ally.

Tutu is from TutusandTux.

Well, it’s a productive day for me and I’m glad that I’m still able to make a pretty decent page after all these months of hiatus. 🙂

Hope you’re having a great week so far!
