The Underground

Project Life | Week 36 & Week 38

Just days before I went on my business trip to Jakarta, when I received my Studio Calico October kit, I was in a kind of anxiety. Well, you know, the kind that got you feeling worried if your kits will arrive on time, if you’re in THE mood to churn out something within a day or two prior to your traveling and if you’re really able to fulfil the dateline with such tight schedule.

I have to say I worried for nothing. Really.

The Underground Project Life Kit and add-on Baker Street that came, well how should I put it in words?

I completed two full spreads within a day! I’ll leave it to you to figure out what it meant. šŸ˜‰

So, here are my Week 36 and Week 38. I did them in a breeze. Truly enjoyed playing with the kit and add-on.

I used only the mainĀ Underground Project Life KitĀ on this Week 36. So loving the cards and embellishments, especially the puffy stickers!

I’ve been using Protector Page Design K for months and I’m still loving this config. What I did was I cut up the 4×6 cards from this kit to 4×4 to fit them into the pockets. Perfect and no-brainer solution. *laugh*

The polka dot card actually has a “Harvest” word on it and since I don’t have any related photo to go with the card, I covered it with a circle digital printable from here, added the number 36 from this printableĀ and made it into my title week card.

The “My Happy Place” sentiment is actually cut out from one of the 3×4 cards. I thought it depicts what I wanted to document on the photo of me in my happy place, which is my bed. šŸ™‚

Oh, that 6×4 card with printed tags is my favourite! I added some journaling which was typed out with my typewriter and I just finished it off a couple of printable labels, puffy sticker and mini alphas from the main PL kit.

What I really love about theĀ Underground Project Life KitĀ is that it included a couple of 3×4 cards that has number sequence on them. They’re perfect to journal your to-do list, what is current going on in that week or day, buckets list etc.

I used this card to type out the recipe of the Banana Cupcakes that I baked over the weekend and added a printable label for the recipe title. I could definitely go back and refer to the recipe if I need to bake again.

I think ever since I received this Underground extra PL card setĀ Cozy Card Set by Live.Love.Paper, I’ve been swooning over them again and again. I seriously could’t get enough of them!

In most weeks, I would a photo or two of my time spent in cafes. So, this card set fits perfectly into this week’s theme of me celebrating the hub’s birthday at Department of Caffeine. This place served one of the best waffles I’ve ever tasted! if you’re in Singapore, you definitely have to try it! It’s located at 15 Duxton Road, very near to Maxwell Road.

The gold foil scallop card is just about my favourite fromĀ Baker Street. I just adhered one of the phrase tags, navy die cut and added cork and wood dots to make my Week 38 title card.

Have I mentioned how much I adore the Cozy card set? *laugh*

Love that phrase on the card!

Here comes the highlight of this page.

We celebrated the hub’s 48th birthday this week. It was a very quiet and simple family affair. He preferred it that way and have always been.

He always say this to me “Every day is a birthday to me, as long as I’m happy doing what I do and be with you and Ethan”. How sweet is that and what a great thought from this man of mine! That’s why I’m such a lucky ducky to be married to him.

Oh, today is actually our 14th anniversary and it’s another quiet ‘celebration’ for us. That’s the way we like it. šŸ™‚ Love you loads my love. I’m looking forward to many more wonderful years with you!

See, daddy had to have a photoĀ takenĀ with her two princesses. *laugh* They adore and love him like there’s no tomorrow. Jealous here now. šŸ˜‰

The “TODAY” cut is from here. I actually run through the cut on one of the PL main kit 3×4 cards on my Silhouette Cameo, adhered it over another 3×4 grid cardĀ and just added one of the phrase tags and mini alphas fromĀ Baker Street.

Ok, let’s talk a little bit about one of my favourite embellishments fromĀ Baker Street.

The Fancy Pant mini pink and white stripes folder. Love love love it so much!

It fit’s just nicely onto a 3×4 card and I used it to write down the recipe of the Lemon Blueberry Pound Cake that I made that weekend on the inside of the folder.

That’s about it from my Underground spreads.

So, what did you get during reveal?

I do hope the Underground Project Life Kit,Ā Baker StreetĀ andĀ Cozy Card Set by Live.Love.PaperĀ are amongst your purchase. I’ve seen some comments in Studio Calico forum about how they’re not so attracted to the kit and add-ons but in all seriousness, they do lookĀ a lot better IRL than what you’ve seen on Studio Calico’s site. Well, you can see them for yourself on my spreads. I’m not bluffing. *laugh*

Anyway, I have another PL add-on ChelseaĀ to play this weekend. Somehow, this didn’t come in together with the rest. It arrived a week later but I couldn’t churn out another spread on time before reveal. So, I can’t wait to dive into it this weekend!

See ya soon! Happy week ahead!

    Worried about Fading Pictures

Hi, I have been scrapbooking since I was young but didn’t realize there was a whole world of it until a year ago when I was pregnant with my daughter. Now, I’m going through an overwhelming sense of wow-there-is-SO-much syndrome.

Because of my perfectionist nature, I get stuck often!
My current road block is printing pictures. I don’t know what the best way is, print at home or print through Persnickety Prints.

You use a Canon printer right? Aren’t you worried that the pictures will fade with time?
