Project Life | Week 2
Just right after I came back from my December holiday, my traveling started again and this time it was with vengeance. Yeah, all in three consecutive weeks in the month of January I spent time flying in and out of the country for work. It felt like I’m taking a bus from home to work, I told the hub. Hah! And I foresee that the whole of this year will be like this, every other month or even every month. I signed up for this job knowing that I am required to travel at least 50% of the year. I’m not complaining though because my job is interesting enough to keep me going in and out of the country. The only concern I have is my time away from my boys. I need to manage my traveling schedule carefully so I can be around on weekends and every other week. It’s not going to be easy but I need to plan my time better.
So, going forward, here’s my Week 2.
I went on my first 2015 business trip to Kuala Lumpur, my home country. I spent 3 intensive days in meetings but I did make time to devour some of my favourite Malaysian food that I’ve missed so much.
I used One Little Bird Silver Linings Journal Cards as the base cards of my pages.
I love using a lot of white base journaling cards as they keep the page clean and make the photos pop.
The geotag and star chipboards are by Studio Calico and the “Today” word is from the Technique Tuesday Geotag stamp by Ali Edwards.
The Week Two card is from One Little Bird Weekly Edition 4×6 printable journaling cards that I adapted into a 4×4 format.
Whenever I travel, I love to explore the local food joints in search of good food. I include lots of photos of food that I tried and would highly recommend them to family and friends. You can follow me closely on my Instagram feed to see where I go and what I eat. 🙂
The arrow puffy sticker is from Evalicious and the mini heart wood veneer is from Gossamer Blue On My Desk Wood Veneer.
The white mini alphas are from Firchburg PL Add-on Kit from Studio Calico, yellow chipboard with word phrase is from Ali Edward’s First Story Kit. I just couldn’t get enough of those chipboards! I’m definitely looking forward to more of these chipboards in her upcoming kits.
This page basically captured moments over the weekend when I was back home from my trip. I love to include photos of my boy and other things going on around at home, my craft space and how I spend my weekend.
The hexagon sticker with quote is from Kikki.K 2014 Inspiration DIY Sticker Book. The sticker book is filled with amazing quotes and phrases that are very inspiring for day to day moments.
I’m beginning to include more 3×4 prints exported from Collect app, a photo journal to document everyday pictures. Love that it allows some brief journaling to be included.
I’m still trying to figure out which Studio Calico kit the red speech bubble card was from. *Updated* Yes, this card was from the 2014 January Copper Mountain PL Add-on Union Meadows. (thank you Samm!:) )
One thing that I’ve changed up a little this year is the use of lots of white space in my 4×4 photos and adding just a few simple embellishments such as wood veneers that I have amassed over the years. I’m trying to keep it simple and let the photos tell the stories.
What are you doing differently this year and why do you like it? If you have some great ideas about what you’re doing in documenting your Project Life, do feel free to share them with me.
Have a great weekend ahead!
