It’s the time of the month for Studio Calico Sneak Peek!

The Bluegrass Farm kits and add-ons are filled with LOTS of gorgeous spring colors. Studio Calico have outdone themselves month after month, and this is no exception! I have to say that I had a wonderful time playing with the Project Life kit, PL add-ons and the add-on stamp as well.:)

I believe you would agree the same looking at these amazing kit and add-ons right?

Bluegrass Farm Project Life Kit

BLUEGRASS-FARM-PL-MAIN-D3Gertrude – Project Life Add-on 1

Tabasco – Project Life Add-on 2

Nelly – Stamp Add-on

PL-STAMP-ADD-NELLYAmazing, aren’t they?

And here are what I made from these kit and add-ons.

Both of the above are from the main Project Life kit. The cork alphas are to-die for! They’re just perfect for my title card and adding prompts to my cards.

I’m using Tabasco on this sneak. I’m absolutely in love with the colors! And I have a soft spot for enamel dots too, one of my my 5 must-have embellishments for my Project Life.

This sneak features Nelly, the add-on stamp, which I adore! Some of prompts are very much Instagram related, so I’m thrilled to be playing with this stamp. Oh, and the banners, tabs and everything else in this stamp. This is a MUST get item if you’re considering this stamp.:)

I hope you’ve enjoyed my sneaks and stay tuned for the full reveal happening on the 27th March at noon EST / 11am CST for the subscribers and midnight for everyone else.

Have a great week ahead!

It all looks gorgeous, love your sneaks, can’t wait to get my hands on that stamp set, looks like I will be setting my alarm very early that morning (I think it is around 3am here in Australia).

  • MyelifeinpicturesMarch 21, 2014 - 2:36 am

Oh goodluck to my wallet! I love everything but I am limiting myself to the stamp add on and either Gertrude or Tabasco. I love the stamp in Tabasco (the xoxo) and the enamel dots which I am currently addicted to. So maybe it would be Tabasco.
It would be my first presale so I am a bit nervous…I hope I get the add ons I love. I’ve read that add-ons get sold so fast. I have yet to determine what time the presale will be here in Dubai.

I’ve been wanting to try cutting my washi tapes with my Silhouette Cameo for a while but I was afraid it would tear but after I’ve received some reassurance from the wonderful community at Studio Calico that it works, I jumped right in.

I picked out some of my favorite washi tapes from my huge collection and taped them across onto a A4 size white non-textured cardstock. The washi tapes were placed in an alternate manner, giving it a little variety of colors and designs.

Then, I opened up my Silhouette Studio, picked out a Hearts design by Karla Dudley that I bought from Silhouette online store.

Screen Shot 2014-03-01 at 11.37.44 AM

This is the setting that I used to cut the hearts.

Custom Media – Textured Cardstock (Heavy 80 lb)

Speed – 5

Thickness – Default setting at 33

Blade – size 4 (I just changed to a new one few days ago)

Screen Shot 2014-03-01 at 12.05.33 PMAnd I’m all ready to cut!

Here’s how it turned out.

I’m happy that it cuts into the washi and cardstock clean and sharp. As long as you’re not using card stocks that are too thick, it will cut right into the paper layered with washi tapes.

Oh, this is seriously very addictive.

I even tried out a more intricate design, with words this time and reduced the size of the word to around 2 3/4″ width x 1 3/4″ height and it cut out perfectly as well. Love how it turned out!

You know I’ve been using alphas on my Project Life title card most weeks, so I cut out the word Week on my woodgrain washi, just giving it a different look.

The Week font used is Brush Script Std.

It’s been a fruitful and productive experiment. Love it and will definitely try it again, very often I foresee.:)

I hope you’ve enjoyed my quick review on how I use Silhouette Cameo to cut up some washi.

Happy Saturday!

  • LindaMarch 1, 2014 - 5:30 pm

Project Life | 2014 Week 4 & 5

Hello and welcome back to the time of the month again for Studio Calico reveal! Needless to say, you would have BEEN there snapping up all your favorite kits and add-ons! *laugh* I do hope you’ve got what you’ve been eyeing and I seriously have to say that Office Hours is one hell of a kit! Lots of fabulous colors and designs filling up the papers, embellishments, PL cards and so on. I’m not saying this because I’m in the team but you would agree with me, wouldn’t you?  ;) It gets better each month and I always feel excited when Studio Calico releases their kits every month. I feel at ease when everything is well coordinated for me, so that I don’t spend hours pulling together my own stash of supplies. That’s why Studio Calico PL kits work so well for me. It keeps me going. It makes me want to move forward each month. And more importantly, it allows me to complete my spreads within a short time, thus allowing me more time with my family and for myself.

So, here are my spreads using Office Hours Project Life Kit, PL add-ons Spreadsheet and Report, and the stamp set Inbox.

Week 4

The close up view of Week 4.

You see that strips of dark grey paper with numbers that made up 20-26? It was cut up from one of the 4×6 cards from the main PL kit. Instead of using my date stamp to indicate the running dates for Week 4, I cut out the numbers from the card and staple it to my title card.

Oh oh, that Watercolor Die Cut “Captured”, it’s my all time favorite! I left it raw as it is, mat it with a bright lemon yellow cardstock, cut out the shape and adhered it onto the Everyday 3×4 PL card. I then added an Adhesive Cork Circle (love!!) onto the die cut space in the centre (fits perfectly!) and adhered a green sequin to finish off the card.

Sometimes I love using the 3×4 PL card to mat my photo. It add’s a little texture contrast to the white base cardstock that I always love to use as my 4×6 card. The number labels are from Office Hours Printable by Hello Forever.

That blue heart, it’s from the Navy Thickers that comes in the Project Life kit. Love it!:)

For my Week 5 spread, I used a mix of Office Hours Project Life Kit, PL add-ons Spreadsheet and Report, and the stamp set Inbox. Those PL add-ons are completely adorable! They’re filled with so much embellishments that I can’t get enough of.

The details of this spread.

The triangles on the base of the card were stamped using the stamp set Inbox. I just picked out a few of my favorite colors from my Hero Arts Shadow Inks and stamped randomly over the card.

That string of lightbulbs, it’s my favorite! Also from the Inbox stamp set.:)

That You Are A Star is an overlay from Spreadsheet add-on . I placed it over one of the 3×4 PL cards and added a few pieces of Essentials Woodgrain Chipboard Stars from Report add-on.

Another favorite embellishment of mine would be the puffy stickers that comes in Report add-on. They have the whole sheet filled with adorable shapes!

I hope you’ve enjoyed my spreads and I’m sure you’ll love these kits and add-ons from Office Hours as much as I do.

Have a great weekend ahead!

Hey all!

I just want to pop in quickly to say that I’m still around, alive and kicking.:)

Past few weeks have been absolutely crazy around here, family, work and almost everything that I’m in it. It has also been a difficult period for me and my family as we’ve lost someone dear in our lives recently. It was in fact my beloved uncle who just passed away suddenly few weeks ago, shocking every one of us because it was a sudden departure. To this day, we are still coming to terms with the loss we painfully accepted, griefing quietly amongst the family. But most of all, the person who are affected most by this loss is my dearest grandma. She couldn’t accept the fact that she has to see her beloved son leaving this world and she’s outliving him. We clearly have no answer to that. She’s grieving so much it aches my heart seeing her in this condition. My mom have since been by her side day and night making sure she has the support she needed during this difficult time. My grandma is already more than 90 years old and with her failing health, we’re very concerned about her well-being. We pray everyday for her to be strong and for her health. And we hope in time to come, she will move on and come out of her grief. Only time will heal her broken heart.

And on the back end, there are some other family and work “issues” to take care of but all is good. I think in life at some point of time, there will be hiccups and the road ahead is a little bumpy, we just have to overcome it in good faith. Whatever happens, I will definitely look forward to face any challenges, like I always do with a positive mind.

On the work front, I have also recently made the decision to move on with a heavy heart and I’ll be leaving my current job. It was also a decision that was made after careful consideration of what is happening on the back end, family and my other personal reasons. I’ve had great memories with my company and I will truly miss the people I’ve been working closely with the past 2.5 years, be it my teammates or my customers. Looking at how our relationships have developed and bloomed over the past years, we have become fast friends. That is something priceless that I will always cherish. I believe that the people around you is what makes a difference in your life, and I hope in time to come, I would be able to find a place I could develop relationships like this. I know for a fact that the other side of the grass is not always greener, but I’m putting my faith forward and pray that all will be well.

I’m ending this post with a photo taken yesterday when I was on my way home from a short business trip to Jakarta. It was a beautiful sight from above the sky, so calming and soothing to the soul.

I wish you a great week ahead and thank you once again for taking time to send me heart warming messages through emails, I’m grateful for your kind words.:)

I’m so sorry to hear about your uncle :( as a mother who’s outlived her only child, I can say that time will make things easier, but it won’t heal her. There will always be that part of her now missing.

Sending all my love to your family and of course to you <3
